The Garden City Police Department has in place an Enhanced 911 phone system to provide the public with twenty-four hour, seven day a week access to emergency services. The Enhanced 911 or E-911 system provides the police dispatcher with the telephone number, name and address of the caller even if there is no verbal communication between the dispatcher and caller. Police Officers are dispatched to investigate all E-911 calls. The E-911 system also allows the police dispatcher to transfer calls directly to the Fire Department, Ambulance or Nassau County 911 as needed.
